DOG - THE WAY TO TRUTH

The dog is considered an animal that has got inspiring tendency to find the truth. It is a threat to law evaders. Trained dogs are used to investigate

The dog is described as amicus curiae in the criminal investigation process. The tendency of the dog to smell and locate the culprit is being used for the time immemorial. Though there are several electronic types of equipment, dogs are still used to find out explosives because they are found to be dependable.

In Kerala, State dogs are trained to sniff and find out the illicit import of spirits through check posts.

In Michigan dog is used to detect and sniff out offenders who discharge sewers illegally into drains.

After the Mahabharatha war, the Pandavas decided to reach heaven alive. They handed over the Kingdom to Abhimanyu's son and started climbing. A dog accompanied them on the way. It is said, that Draupadi, Sahadev, Nakul, Arjun and Bheem collapsed on the hike and died one by one. Only Yudhisthira and the dog reached heaven.  At the entry point, Yudhisthira was asked to abandon the dog by Indra, the king of the gods who said that only one of them could enter heaven, to which Yudhisthir refused. Then the Yama appeared in his true form & blessed Yudhishthir as he had passed a test and that's why Yudhisthir is called Dharmputra. The dog has shown the way to heaven, the top.

In another part of Maharbharatha the dog has lead Dronacharya to find out Eklvya. In a forest, Eklvya was practising the art of archery. A dog with Dronacharya strayed and went near Ekalavya, and started barking at him.  The Eklvya used his arrows to fill the dog’s mouth. The dog returned to Dronacharya with arrows in its mouth. Drona was stunned for the reason that only an expert archer does such work, without letting a drop of blood fall. The dog led Dronacharya to Ekalavya, who told him that Drona was his teacher.

The Quran also approves of the importance of Dogs. It is stated thus:

They consult you concerning what is lawful for them; say, “Lawful for you are all good things, including what trained dogs and falcons catch for you.” You train them according to GOD's teachings. You may eat what they catch for you, and mention GOD's name thereupon. You shall observe GOD. GOD is most efficient in reckoning. [5:4]

In his famous polemic Truth versus Ashurst, written in 1792 and published in 1823, Jeremy Bentham made a searing criticism of judge-made criminal law, which he called "dog-law".

"It is the judges (as we have seen) that make the common law. Do you know how they make it? Just as a man makes laws for his dog. When your dog does anything you want to break him of, you wait till he does it, and then beat him for it. This is the way you make laws for your dog: and this is the way the judges make law for you and me. They won't tell a man beforehand what it is he should not do - they won't so much as allow of his being told: they lie by till he has done something which they say he should not have done, and then they hang him for it."

 Personality Traits:

People born under the year of the Dog tend to be very well-liked as it is one of the most popular of all the animals.  Dog people are: truthful, clever, and with a strong sense of fairness and devotion.  They never shirk their duties, they always do their fair share of things and will always "listen to reason".  They would never ignore a distress call, often putting the well-being of others before their own and they never abandon people.  Other traits include open-mindedness, never envious, being non-money-minded and very adept at seeing straight through others.  However, should you try to snoop into their affairs they can become secretive and also give a cold shoulder to those who they don't really like. They are also: intrepid, practical and "have great insight into human nature".  They can be belligerent, gloomy, be anxious for no apparent reason and they absolutely detest pretence.  Inevitabilities are never put on hold, neither is giving a clear-cut answer to something.  Above all, they are never sly, underhand or crafty.

The year of the Dog: is a year for reflection and to assess one's values.  There will be disturbances and revolts, but as the Dog is always on the lookout, honesty will always rule the day.  This year will see great benevolent and idealistic deeds and various unusual changes; a time when broadmindedness and fairness will be supported.  Although this year is one of great cynicism a sense of balance and tranquillity will be upheld.
